CyberSecurity TV Shark Fest Series Webcast
August 7, 2020 - 3:00PM ET

CyberSecurityTV.net is sponsoring another series of Shark Fest events where companies can pitch their capabilities to a panel of government and commercial  technology experts. Topics can range from artificial intelligence to digital transformation to cybersecurity to any great technology idea.

If you've nearly perfected an innovation or business process that would revolutionize a technology application or you've thought about starting your own company, this is your chance to present your concept, product, or solution and get advice from experts. Participating in the Cybersecurity TV Shark Fest is a great way to hear from experienced entrepreneurs and other business professionals as well as to gain visibility through this ongoing series of live webcasts on Cybersecurity TV.

Each episode features several companies that each have five minutes each to give their pitch and then respond to five minutes of judges questions.

Many organizations that have won or presented in these past competitions on Cybersecurity TV to gain exposure, have gone on to win new contracts, raise a round of capital or have had their companies successfully acquired. Daniel E. Turissini Chief Technology Officer, SPYRUS
Dan joined SPYRUS Solutions, Inc. as Chief Technology Officer responsible for the restart and broader adoption of the company’s products and services. A founder of Operational Research Consultants, Inc. in 1991, he led as Chief Executive to become a thought leader in identity verification and trusted authentication. He negotiated its merger with WidePoint where he piloted a seamless transition to a well-funded $120M market cap prior to his 2015 exit.

As an independent consultant Dan has provided expert consulting in identity and access control, cryptographic, biometric, and Public Key Infrastructures. Efforts resulted in patents granted in the USA and six other nations. A systems engineering/ integration innovator and leading expert in trusted managed services, he has achieved Trusted Authority certifications for Public and Private enterprises, pivotal in achieving the vision of implementing the next generation of Cyber Security for his clients.

 Dan Chairs the Marine Technology Society, Maritime Cyber Security and Infrastructure Committee and Vice Chairs the AFCEA, Homeland Security Committee; where he actively evangelizes for the protection of Critical Infrastructure and Citizen privacy. On AFCEA’s Educational Foundation Board he is dedicated to providing educational incentives, opportunities and assistance in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

He holds a BS degree from the US Merchant Marine Academy (Alumni’s Outstanding Professional Achievement Award) and a Masters from the George Washington University.
 

Terry Roberts

Chief Executive Officer and Founder

Terry Roberts has established the first Cybersecurity Online Exchange - enabling all businesses (especially mid- sized and small companies) to have continuous online access to tailored learning, smart buying, and connections to the best products, services, insights, and trends industry wide. Previously, Terry was the TASC Vice President for Cyber Engineering and Analytics, running all Cyber/IT, Financial, and Business Analytics cross cutting, innovative technical services. Prior to TASC, Terry was the Executive Director of the Carnegie Mellon, Software Engineering Institute, leading the technical body of work for the entire US Interagency, with a special focus on leveraging and transitioning commercial innovation and acquisition excellence to government programs and capabilities, and establishing the Emerging Technologies Center and Cyber Intelligence Consortium.

 

Les Owens Co-Founder, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer, Treada Technology Group

Mr. Owens is a co-founder, CTO and COO of Treada Technology Group—a Vienna Va-based Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) that delivers cybersecurity, systems/software engineering and R&D capabilities to Federal and Commercial clients. He also serves as a subject matter expert in cybersecurity, wireless security and other technologies for the company.

Mr. Owens is an action-oriented, hands-on, seasoned executive and professional with over 30 years of leadership, business management, technology, and operations experience in Commercial and DoD consulting. Mr. Owens also has expertise in engineering development, innovation, and applied research. He is a high energy, creative, enthusiastic, and inspiring leader, people developer, and business developer.

During his long career, Mr. Owens has worked for several major organizations including the NSA, AT&T, GTE, Nortel Networks and Iridium. Prior to co-founding Treada Technology Group, Mr. Owens was VP of Cybersecurity and CTO for SuprTEK for nearly five years. Prior to SuprTEK, as a Principal, he built a large wireless security and Information Assurance practice at Booz Allen.

Mr. Owens has a BSEE from Virginia Tech and began his career as a microprocessor-based systems design engineer in the area of SIGINT for DoD. He also holds a MSEE from GW. He completed all of the coursework and exams for a PhD in EE from Virginia Tech—and performed academic research in security for cognitive radio. Mr. Owens has been an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Computer Science at Georgetown, and served as the Technical Editor for Wireless Security Perspectives. He is a perpetual innovator and holds nine US patents.

 

Colonel (Retired) Laurie Moe Buckhout

President and CEO of Corvus Consulting

Colonel (Retired) Laurie Moe Buckhout is the President and CEO of Corvus Consulting, a strategic consulting and services group serving DoD Electronic Warfare, Cyber and Information Warfare communities. She served as an Army Officer from 1984 to 2010, retiring to assume a position in the Defense Industry.  Ms Buckhout is a native of Virginia and attended James Madison University.  Upon completion of JMU’s ROTC Scholarship program, she was commissioned a 2LT in the Army Signal Corps in 1984, and from there served in leadership and staff positions from the 3rd Infantry Division to the White House, and from Platoon Leader to Battalion Commander, ending her career as Chief of Electronic Warfare for the Army’s Headquarters Staff.
